INTERIOR DESIGN STORE: JAIME BERIESTAIN

As well as documenting the move to Barcelona, I also wanted this blog to focus on design in Barcelona in a practical sense, in as much as, where do you go as an interior designer or as a person interested in procuring unique items of furniture, fabrics and accessories for a design project?

JAIME BERIESTAIN ‘CONCEPT STORE’

My first find was completely by accident. I had just been to my bank and had decided to take a different route back to the metro when I came across the concept store ‘JAIME BERIESTAIN’

First impression:

I instantly fell in love with both the idea of the store and the well-chosen selection of objects for sale; from restored vintage furniture, to a selection of beautiful fabrics, to an incredible range of practical and decorative objects and wares for the home.

There are virtually rooms within rooms of an innumerable array of items for purchase. Have a bouquet made up from the fresh flower display. Purchase a very well-priced candle or scent. Browse the selection of books and magazines. Choose a work of art…

Café-Restaurant:

As part of the concept store is the café-restaurant, right next door and open daily. Enjoy a coffee, have lunch or imbibe in a cocktail…

So who is Jaime Beriestain?

I have to admit, I was fascinated. By all appearances entrepreneurial, has a good eye for design and ‘his’ own product range.

As noted on his website: An interior designer from Chile, Jaime did a post graduate Interior design degree in Barcelona in 2000 and went on to open his own interior design Barcelona based office in 2002. He has an impressive portfolio and has diversified into product design and continues to be immersed in major national and international design projects.

So if you are looking for a feature furniture piece, some great accessories or even that special gift ‘Jaime Beriestain Concept Store’ in my opinion is a great place to start.

Address: Carrer de Pau Claris, 167, 08037 Barcelona, Spain

The website is a little disappointing and limited compared to all that I saw on offer in the store, so I do recommend a visit in person.
