Update 14/08/2017 – Sadly this store has closed down.
A vintage shop in El Poblenou with Scandinavian and European 20th century design, furniture, industrial pieces, lamps, art, kitch objects and even features an onsite hairdresser [she happens to be a good friend of mine]
Somewhat off the beaten track, this store houses an eclectic mix of furniture, lighting and objet d’art pieces. If you’re looking for a ‘piece’ be it a 20th century classic , a vintage Scandinavian piece or something quirky , something that ‘pops’ then this is a great place to have a rummage.
The website is a bit of a non-event I’m afraid, but it will direct you onto their Instagram page that regularly features new additions to the collection: http://www.sotbcn.com/
Here are some recent pieces that caught my eye:
We even purchased this vintage ‘Thonet Hocker Stool’ which sits perfectly beside our contemporary Ikea modular sofa:
…and towards the back of the store you will find the wonderful Swedish hairdresser and Redken hair consultant Carina Forsbeck.

Hi Stephen,
I like the way you say “when it pops”…that’s what it is, isn’t it!?
I also call it “when it fills your bucket”! Hi, hi, hi.
And I do like your stool, that popped straight away!
But then I love old furniture and when it comes in useful, it pops for me!
Have a nice day!
José

Thanks Jose…yes ‘it pops’ is a great term to describe anything that stands out from it’s surroundings 🙂
